Prior to any work being carried out on the ground it is essential that a site assessment be carried out in order to create a development and establishment plan.
The forester will walk the site with the landowner and discuss the objectives and various options available and together a site plan will be formulated.
This plan takes into consideration such things as soil type, exposure, frost or flooding, and personal preferences for tree species or site layout may also be considered. After discussing these factors it is then possible to decide on species, ground preparation and fencing.
